Surprises
Mystery
not only surrounds surprises but also is attractive to many people. However,
for others, it is completely unacceptable. I like surprises since they make my
life interesting and brighter due to the component of unexpectedness and
uncertainty. Specifically, pleasant surprises such as interesting performances
or beautiful presents make life worth living because people create them in a
secret atmosphere.
A
study or Greek mythology reveals that three goddesses (Atropos, Kloto, and Lakhesis)
control human life. While Kloto breathes
life to a new being, Lakhesis decides the years that a newborn will have on
earth. Lastly, Anthropos causes death when time is due. It implies that
external forces decide human destiny prior to a child’s birth. Besides, it is a
surprise that the ancient Romans
conceived a powerful destiny rival. Indeed, Fortuna (the Roman goddess of fate)
carelessly changes her mind. Therefore, her surprises can either be negative or
positive. In this regard, surprise bears a symbolic meaning given that it is a
solution for a planned and pre-arranged life. Essentially, daily surprises are
exciting sources of entertainment because they lead us to an ambience of
gratification and festivity.
I
am convinced that a surprise is a hallmark of celebration and holidays since
people derive it from ancient carnivals. In the past, the rulers entitled their
subjects to behave weirdly or extraordinarily as per their wishes. For
instance, the ancient Greeks hid under the mask when executing their daily
duties. Therefore, such an understanding of surprise is traceable on my conscience as well as those of other
humans. Today, not only accept surprises but also make them. Understandably,
they allow me to express myself and to color my reality with tons and tints, albeit
temporarily.
