Highs School in Japan Enters Virtual Reality
The
Japanese government is fast-tracking the adoption of technology to improve
efficiency in service delivery. In particular, many learning institutions
embrace virtual reality as a new learning tool. Notably, virtual reality
learning aid not only assists the students in information absorption but also injects adventure and fun
to the education sector.
Recently, the N High School collaborated with
Kadokawa Dwango Corp. to introduce
virtual reality education. The N High School provides online educational services
to more than 1400 students countrywide. During the introduction of virtual
reality pilot program, 73 freshmen participated and the ceremony was largely
successful. The students used headsets and virtual reality gear to follow the
headmaster’s speech held 900 miles away in Okinawa. Besides, the learners used
the augmented reality to view the campus’
infrastructure in 360 degrees.
The
school’s leadership wanted the students to experience Okinawa’s environment the
gears. In this way, the institution nurtures a new generation of tech-savvy
individuals. At the same time, the educators can spark creativity and reveal
hidden talents that the students possess. Misa Nishimoto ( Diwago Co. Spokeswoman) admits that the N High
School students got a unique chance to experience the headset and virtual
reality gadget first-hand (Staff 1).
The
Japanese Ministry of Education fully accredits N High School as an e-learning
provider. In the foreseeable future, the learning institution will conduct all
the educational activities online to minimize the amount of time that the
students spend commuting to and from the institution. The learners can utilize
the recovered time in engaging or interacting with their teachers virtually,
thus boosting the quality of education. Consequently, N High School will gain a
reputation as one of the most competitive institutions in Okinawa.
